Now you know how Buckley developed his infamously gargantuan vocabulary. I’m sure he had an assistant to put the bookplates in all the books, though.
The New York Times ran this photo with WFB’s obituary in 2008:
And included this quote: “Although the exact cause of death was not immediately known… he was found at his desk in the study of his home, his son said. ‘He might have been working on a column,’ [Christopher] Buckley said.”
Thank you for posting this. Truly a gentleman and a Scholar of the first degree. A shining example of how powerful the combination of intellect and decorum can be.
