This is a post inspired by a post inspired by another post. By which I mean I saw these photos at Die Workwear!, which had been inspired by a similar one at No Man Walks Alone.
But whereas Die Workwear! focused on the sartorial aspects of shots British photographer Allen Warren did in the 1980s, here we turn our attention to the trappings of the gentlemen’s stately homes.
These are wonderful photographs. I am from the Mississippi Delta. Some have referred to the Delta as “the most southern place on earth”. Often times people will say southerners have “pomp with no circumstance”. You can go on a Sunday drive and knock on the door of an antebellum home down in the Delta in middle of nowhere and find people and relics that look just like this.
What great images. Thanks for posting.
